Responsibilities:
Catholic Charities currently has an opening for an energetic, detail oriented, passionate
Recruiting Specialist. The Recruiting Specialist will be responsible for the day to day management and coordination of activities related to employee recruitment, hiring, and onboarding using best practices.
- Function as the first point of contact for all applicants to the Agency and screen all candidates in a timely, professional, and courteous manner, answering questions as applicable.
- Manage the Agency's employee recrutiment and selection process including: advertising/sourcing, recruiting, job fairs, college recruiting, appropriate screenings, and evaluating job candidates to fill position requests.
- In conjunction with hiring managers and supervisor, develop, update, and maintain job descriptions database for Agency.
- Provide supervisor and hiring managers updates on recruitment activities and status.
- Collaborate with the HR Coordinator on the employee onboarding process including background checks, pre-hire paperwork, and new employee orientation.
- In addition to recruitment, the Recruiting Specialist will function as a member of our Human Resource Team and have the opportunity to contribute to agency activities related to training, compensation and employee recognition.
- Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources, Diocese and Catholic Charities policies and procedures. Must maintain strict confidentiality.

Education and/or Experience Required at Entry: Bachelor degree in human resources, business or related field with 1-3 years of experience in a human resources or workforce development environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws and regulations is required, experience in the development and implementation of new systems preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to manage full cycle recruiting on multiple open requisitions.
- Ability to organize, document and analyze recruiting data to create effective sourcing strategies and report out on turnover, retention, quality of hire, and other metrics.
- Experience using an Applicant Tracking system.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with sourcing avenues and build relationships with hiring managers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and HRIS systems.
- The ability to demonstrate and adhere to the Agency’s Core Competencies.
Licenses/Certifications/Clearances: Valid NYS Driver's License, State Central Registry Clearance, Background Check. Professional in Human Resources certification (PHR or SPHR), or Society for HR Management (SHRM) professional certification preferred.
