The HVAC Mechanic I provides Journeyman’s level HVAC maintenance support on Fort Belvoir's project site.

Responsibilities:

• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on a large variety of types of air-conditioning, dehumidification, refrigeration, ventilation and heating systems equipment and controls within critically controlled environmental installations including diagnostic testing, overhauling, installation and repairs
• Research specifications as provided by other parties and makes installation corrections required ensuring proper function of equipment as required by tenant agency requirements
• Building maintenance tasks, which must be performed to proficiency, include but are not limited to making adjustments and repairs to HVAC and building automation systems
• Performs preventive maintenance functions which include, but are not limited to, changing filters, cleaning cooling towers, heating and cooling coils
• Responsible for emergency after hour call backs determined by facility coordinator and all other assigned duties not to exceed technical level of HVAC Mechanic
• Functions independently to make decisions and sound recommendations concerning HVAC operations and maintenance required experience

Requirements:

• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a licensed HVAC mechanic
• Minimum three (3) years of DDC Controls experience
• CFC Certified
• HVAC Journeyman’s License
• Current US Driver’s License
• US citizenship
