As an Infection Control, Clinical Educator, Patient Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in continuing the healing mission of Deaconess.
Job Overview:
As Infection Control Officer, this individual is responsible for organizing and leading the hospital Infection Surveillance, Prevention, and Control activities and practices by assessing, monitoring and making recommendations to reduce infections and maintaining hospital-wide infection surveillance, prevention, and control policies. As Patient Safety Officer, this individual is also responsible for oversight of the Patient Safety program. Infection Control & Patient Safety Officer demonstrates expertise in conferring with organizational and community stakeholders to implement infection reduction strategies and patient safety improvement practices. Educational duties to be added to meet clinical education requirements both annually and ongoing basis.
Required: Certifications/Licenses/Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing preferred.
Membership in APIC or SHEA, with Certification in Infection Control (CIC) recommended being obtained within 18 months.
