The Communications Outreach Recruitment and Enrollment (CORE) Unit is one of the first stops along the path of that transformation. We initiate outreach to thousands of young adults across the state and then lead them through the enrollment process.
We are looking for an Information Officer I to join our CORE team. Below, is key information candidates should consider before applying.
The Information Officer I (IOI) position is based in Sacramento. The IOI supports the Communications Outreach Recruitment and Enrollment unit through planing, preparing, and distribution of written materials. The position is also responsible for content creation and management of the department’s social media channels with the goal of increasing awareness of the California Conservation Corps and increasing enrollment. The IOI must be flexible to changes in priorities and tasks, and be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint, along with knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Creative Cloud applications. Duties may include working with field staff, CCC Corpsmembers, CCC alumni, and serving as department spokesperson.
A successful Information Officer I candidate is a strong writer who is passionate about story telling, is knowledgeable of social media platforms, and can develop content to achieve the agency and unit’s goals. The position also assists with developing and managing external communications platforms and materials.
This position is fast paced, deadline oriented, and diverse in duties and deliverables. The objective is to make a daily impact by reaching young adults across California seeking to improve themselves and their communities.
This position requires using a state vehicle to travel for communications related activities, as well as occasionally traversing project locations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $5,518.00 - $6,907.00 per month
