Position Description:
The DDG 1000 (Information Technology Warfare) Instructor provides IT training directly to sailors at the Zumwalt Training Facility (ZTF) as well as works directly on new and updated curriculum to ensure today's DDG 1000 sailors can meet the IT Warfare challenges of tomorrow.
The DDG 1000 (Information Technology Warfare) Instructor will:
- Conduct and/or facilitate complex technical training courses for end-users.
- Initiate and provide follow-up for technical reviews to ensure curriculum quality and consistency.
- Gauge customer satisfaction and success of training with standard metrics such as evaluation surveys and skills tests.
- Develop, update, and deliver DDG 1000 Training Courses.
- Set up and maintains training environment including equipment.
- Selects appropriate training aids.
- Prepare lesson plans relevant to training material.
- Maintain records of training activities, participant progress, course evaluations and program effectiveness and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Recommend methods for class design and delivery.
- Interface with training developers, subject matter experts and program/project managers.
- Operate and support training in the Ship’s Mission Center Simulator.
Educational / Experience Requirements:
- An Active U.S. DoD Issued Secret clearance.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Networking/Communications which may be waived for 5 to 7 years of related experience with Training and Development in a related discipline (Information Systems or Electronic Warfare).
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the training field.
- Familiarity with DDG-1000 Training Simulator Systems.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Information Warfare, Electronic Warfare systems.
- Excellent presentation and teaching skills with ability to create successful hands-on learning experiences for students.
- Ability to quickly learn complex subject matter with the skill to present the material to a live audience.
- Ability to work as a part of a team.
- Moderate degree of creativity and self-directed work is required.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
