Responsibilities Include:

• Initiate process and track Prior Authorizations
• Work with clients, providers and insurance companies on reauthorizations
• Working with insurance companies and families regarding benefits of a given policy
• Working with intake specialists on initiation of services
• General customer service with patients

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma w/ 1-5 years’ experience working in a health care practice setting or health insurer
• Working knowledge of procedure and diagnosis coding
• Familiar with medical terminology
• Experience in billing third party payer
• Knowledge of reimbursement practices
• Use of medical billing software
• The ability to recognize individual and system problems and to communicate such information to the supervisor
• Strong verbal and written communication and problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently, establish priorities and organize workload
• Commitment to consumer and medical center confidentiality

The schedule will consist of 40 hours, within the time frame of Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm.

Work experience: Experience with insurance authorization, preferably within a healthcare setting
