Job Purpose (Job Summary):
An experienced Microsoft SQL DBA to work alongside a global data team to design, manage maintain and enhance our global cloud based database infrastructure. Working within Cloud Operations.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
- Management and maintenance of all internal and externally facing MSSQL environments.
- Due to the geographical separation the candidate needs to be a self-starter and able to work both alone and as part of the wider team they will be expected to be part of an on-call rota.
- Additional compensation provided and available to work some weekends as required to perform out of hours maintenance activities.
- Key Deliverables:
- Ensure Integrity, confidentiality and availability of databases services are met in according with the business SLA’s and SLO’s
Work Experience / Knowledge:
- Demonstrable and extensive experience in designing, managing and operating large scale Microsoft SQL Server implementations ideally as part of the back end to highly available SAAS platform.
- Experience of working in or with AWS highly desirable or any other major cloud provider, as well as other database technologies PostgreSQL, Aurora etc. They should be highly proficient in Windows and SQL PowerShell.
- Experience with automation for deployment and management / maintenance tasks a plus.

License/Registration/Certification: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)
- AWS or Microsoft Certifications
Working Conditions:
- Option for remote working as required.
- Normally works a regular schedule of hours, however hours may vary depending upon the project or assignment.
- Hours may include evenings and/or weekends and may include 24 hour a day on call support by mobile phone.
