What you will be doing:

  • Review and appraise the soundness, adequacy, and effectiveness of accounting, financial, and other controls throughout the Credit Union. Review procedures and records for their adequacy to effectively accomplish intended objectives and appraise policies to the activity or function under audit review to identify material or high risk areas.
  • Perform audits of Credit Union operations at intervals agreed to by the SVP of Internal Audit and Supervisory Committee.
  • Ensure work papers are adequately documented and appropriately support the results of all audits, reviews, and evaluations performed.
  • Provide verbal and written reports that are clear, concise and free of bias on the results of audit examinations, including recommendations for improvements and disclosure of internal control weaknesses and deficient conditions.
  • Determine the extent of the Credit Union’s compliance with internal policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with external audit and federal examination efforts.

What we need from you:

  • A Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
  • Three to five years experience in auditing, preferably with a financial institution.
  • Computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong analytical, written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
  • Preferred experience in branch auditing, including but not limited to cash audits and branch operation.
  • Preferred professional certificate either certified or seeking certification in Certified Public Accounting or Certified Internal Auditing.
