Job summary
Amazon is seeking a high-judgment, tenacious, and intuitive communications expert to join the Operations Internal Communications team.

As a Communications Manager, you’ll help manage strategic internal communications for our Amazon Logistics (AMZL) business. From helping define and strengthen the AMZL culture to counseling executives, you will be a critical advisor to driving thought leadership, advocating for employees, and delivering high impact communications for a world-class operations team. The ideal candidate must have a strong self-starter with a bias for action, have backbone, and an ability to maintain composure in fast-moving situations.

This role can be based in Nashville, TN (preferred) or Seattle, WA with an ability to travel occasionally to other Amazon sites.

Key job responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to establish and amplify workplace culture and translate business strategy into communications
• Define and manage an executive communications strategy
• Develop and amplify the AMZL narrative and message framework.
• Develop innovative internal communications, clear narratives, and tactics that engage frontline employees and leaders.
• Earn trust, provide expert counsel, and effectively communicate with a wide range of internal stakeholders.
• Think and communicate clearly – formulate a clear point of view on complicated issues and create a concise and well-written narrative to express it.
• Serve as a speechwriter and content creator to senior executives, including driving the creation and delivery of compelling, executive-level presentation materials.
• Partner with other areas of Corporate Affairs like PR and Public Policy.
• Prepare internal strategy and messaging (sometimes on-call).
• Exercise extremely high judgment, particularly in narrow timeframes.
• Manage and support crisis communications on a rotating basis, 3-5 times per year providing 24/7 on-call support for the North America crisis communications team.
• Roll up sleeves and get work done, even when at times it’s outside the scope of the job.

• Experience building robust, complex communications programs and delivering results
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in internal or external communications with a preference for logistics, operations and familiarity working with a frontline/mobile workforce; preferably with a multi-national company
• Experience in change management or issues management
• Experience supporting senior executives to include speech writing and/or executive coaching
• Experience with a national or global company
• Ability to exercise high judgment, particularly in narrow time-frames and when dealing with ambiguity
• Insightful and able to identify risks and opportunities proactively and pivot quickly to meet emerging demands
