Position Overview
Cohu has an opening for a strong International Tax Manager to join its growing team. This highly visible position will be concentrating on a wide range of international tax functions, including international tax compliance, controversy, provision, planning, and other special projects.
Work Location
This position can be based in our corporate office in San Diego, CA (Poway), or from a remote home office in one of the states that has Cohu operations: AZ, CA, FL, ID, IL, IN, MA, MN, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OR, PA, RI, TN, TX, WA

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and/or review international provisions of TCJA including GILTI, FDII and BEAT
2. Prepare and/or review Subpart F and FTC
3. Prepare and/or review international portion of US compliance, including forms 5471, 8858, etc.
4. Review transfer pricing
5. Lead in tracking earnings and profit pools, tax pools, tax basis in corporate structures
6. Assist in special projects and strategic tax planning as necessary
7. Assist with quarterly and yearly tax provision calculations and review
8. Assist with the management and facilitation of tax audits and inquiries as it relates to international tax issues: preparing or reviewing responses, creating schedules, etc.
9. Communicate the effects of US legislative and regulatory tax law developments as it relates to international tax and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation
10. Regularly seek to identify and drive process improvements within areas of responsibility
11. Write technical tax research and compliance memos as needed
12. Clearly communicate issues, opportunities, and solutions to Tax leadership and other groups
13. Special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or closely related field required; Master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance or JD preferred
Experience:
· 8+ years’ related experience/training; combination of public accounting and/or public company experience; CPA preferred but not required
· One Source Income Tax Compliance, Oracle experience are an advantage
Skills/Technical Requirements:
· Demonstrated expertise in US view of international tax
· Demonstrated excellent project management skills and the ability to strategize and prioritize when working on multiple deliverables
· Highly accountable with proven ability to work independently and through team members, think critically and solve problems, and make decisions exercising sound business acumen
· Strategic mindset in developing approach to tax compliance matters
· Excellent tax technical and analytical skills
· Good verbal and written communication skills; exhibits confidence in critical communications
· Proven negotiation skills with ability to influence both internally and externally
· Exercises sound judgement in risk-based decision making; exhibits courage in making challenging or unfavorable decisions
· Drives results through demonstrated team building and project management skills
· Proven ability to influence and motivate experienced subject matter experts and to deftly operate and manage in virtual cross-functional teams
· Sensitive to cultural differences.
Job Conditions/Physical Demands: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. Ability to sit at desk for prolonged periods; use of computer keyboard and telephone
Protective Devices Required: None or very limited exposure to physical risk.
