POSITION TITLE: Inventory Control Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Materials Management
REPORTS TO: Materials Management Director
JOB PURPOSE: To improve the health and wellbeing of our communities.
BASIC FUNCTION: The Inventory Clerk at Grand River Health is responsible for all medical and non-medical inventory supply distribution to all regular inventory locations, including the main hospital campus as well as offsite satellite branches.
The Inventory Clerk is responsible for the inventory, entering, pulling, and restocking of established supply inventories located throughout Grand River Health. Responsible for labeling and stocking incoming product in the Materials Management storeroom. Also pulls and delivers inventory requisitions generated by individual departments. Restocks the inventory in materials management. Assists employees for their various needs through strong customer service.
Performs periodic cycle counts in the Materials Management storeroom and reconciles inventory discrepancies. In the event of an item is out of stock, the Inventory Clerk notifies purchaser and end users of the situation and assists purchaser with backorder and/or stock out resolution. The Inventory Clerk also assists in performing an annual physical inventory; in addition to assisting supervisor with other special or annual projects. Responsible for patient charges reception from other departments (med/surg).
Clerical duties include filing, typing, and updating procedure manuals. The Inventory Control Clerk assists supervisor in updating and maintaining MIS databases and procedures related to inventory. Responsible for entering completed receiving documents in the computer and processing patient charges for inventory supplies.
In addition to these duties, the Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for keeping a neat and tidy work area. This includes assisting the Clerk with removing and properly disposing of cardboard, trash and excess material from storeroom. Assists shipping and receiving clerk when needed.
The Inventory Clerk will cross train within the department in order to perform the duties of other positions within Materials Management as necessary. Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Minimum of one year experience in shipping and receiving preferred. Direct experience in a Materials Management Department within a healthcare environment preferred. Must be 18 years of age, and possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License and clean Motor Vehicle Record.
SALARY INFORMATION :
$15.44-$23.25 Dependent on Experience
Shift differentials may apply for eligible positions.
