Job Summary:


The Inventory Specialist is responsible for running a profitable and efficient parts purchasing process. He/She will accomplish objectives through the use of proper parts purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, pricing and merchandising. You must be an advisor to partner groups and drive profits. You will meet vendors, negotiate terms and maintain a positive purchasing relationship. You will set up relationships with new vendors and create models for possible new locations and future expansion. You will ensure all employees are properly monitoring the inventory and sale records at each location. You will ensure business system is updated regularly with pricing and inventory quantities. You will generate purchase orders and follow up with receiving and reconciliation procedures. Will troubleshoot and Identifies discrepancies. Stay informed on market conditions affecting costs and product availability. Supervise any inventory employees and Parts Runners.

  • Purchase MRO Supplies

  • Manage the supply chain processes

  • Schedule and coordinate cycle counts

  • Investigate Inventory shrink and overages

  • Work with vendors and negotiate pricing

  • You will ensure all employees are properly monitoring the inventory and sale records at each location.

  • You will ensure business system is updated regularly with pricing and inventory quantities

  • You will generate purchase orders and follow up with receiving and reconciliation procedures

  • Will troubleshoot and Identifies discrepancies

  • Stay informed on market conditions affecting costs and product availability.

  • Supervise Parts Runners

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management


    Experience Required:


  • A minimum of one year inventory management experience

  • A minimum of one year parts purchasing experience, heavy duty truck parts is a plus

  • Have flexibility to work a varied schedule and travel to multiple locations

  • Strong organizational, analytical , self-management and goal setting skills

  • Energetic team player with demonstrated interpersonal skills

  • A high level of computer literacy

  • Enthusiasm combined with hands-on management style

  • A minimum of one year parts purchasing experience, heavy duty truck parts is a plus
