Job description
This position is part of the investments team of a single-family office affiliated with MidFirst Bank. The investments team works closely with other family office functions including accounting, tax and legal.
The investments team invests across asset classes (e.g. private equity funds, venture capital funds, privately held companies, publicly traded equities, real estate), providing the candidate with the opportunity to gain experience working with a diversified family office portfolio and deploying capital into a variety of markets. The office has a particular emphasis on private markets and a substantial private fund investment program.
The candidate’s responsibilities will primarily be 1) assisting the investments team with portfolio planning and oversight (cash flow projections, capital budgeting), 2) maintaining quarterly reports sent to the family clients, 3) evaluating prospective and existing investments and 4) providing general analytical support to the broader family office. The candidate will report to a Senior Investment Analyst. A successful candidate will ultimately become a contributing member to the investments team with regards to sourcing, evaluating, executing, and monitoring investments.
This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position, on our Oklahoma City campus (near highway intersection of 44 and 235).
Duties Include
- Maintain quarterly reports, most of which exist in Excel workbooks for each asset class and require the combination of accounting and external data.
- Create, enhance, and automate quarterly reports using Excel formulas, macros/VBA, or other automation techniques known by candidate.
- Create Excel workbooks in order to quantitatively evaluate upcoming decisions, likely using the discounted cash flow method.
- Work with the investments team to evaluate a range of investment opportunities.
- Aid in the execution of certain investments by reviewing legal agreements and working with other professionals (e.g. accounting, tax, legal, document management).
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or Economics and possess a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better
- 0-3 years of related experience
- Strong analytic, logic, and math skills
- Strong proficiency in Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a self-starter and work well with others
A desire to pursue a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is preferred.
Education
Required- Bachelors or better in Finance or related field
