Custodian Job Summary

Hours 2 P.M. - 10 P.M.

We are currently seeking a reliable, responsible custodian to help maintain and care for our facilities. We take great pride in the external and internal appearance of our facilities and see it as a reflection of our district. The ideal candidate would be someone who is highly motivated, careful and thorough in his/her work, has an eye for detail, and demonstrates the ability to be a team player with current custodial staff to assure cleanliness and safety of the facility. We are looking for a custodian who is reliable, focused, and committed to building upkeep.

Custodian Duties and Responsibilities

• Thoroughness and commitment to ensure assigned areas are ready for the next school day.

• Cleaning of all assigned areas using the standardized cleaning processes and procedures.

• Restock necessary items (e.g. soap,paper products).

• Floor care (Stripping, waxing, cleaning,etc).

• General outdoor services and maintenance, such as trash pick up, cleaning of window and door glass, keeping entry areas clean and clear of debris.

• Assist with setup and teardown for extracurricular activities.

• Assist with repairs to building (changing light bulbs, painting, furniture, etc).

• Assist with preventive maintenance on the school building and equipment.

• Assist with moving furniture and supplies.

• Ability to climb ladders and lift 25lb

• Responsible for the security of classrooms and buildings.

• Undertake seasonal tasks (e.g.snow/ice removal from sidewalks).

• Commitment to reporting major damages to head custodian or administrator.

• Any other duties assigned by head custodian or administrator.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23,850.00 per year
