Job Title: Journeyman - PIC (Person in Charge)

Employment Classification: Non-Exempt Field

Department: Development

Reports To: General Foreman

Location: San Ardo

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • PIC must be able to complete JSA and CW as needed, and be able to communicate the hazards to all on job sites and do a meet and greet when needed.
  • PIC will be in charge of crew and be able to change work as needed and be in close contact with supervisor and be able to use stop work.
  • PIC will be responsible for setting up location (safe parking, smoking areas, placement of meet and greet signs) also will designate what to mark (cones or flagging) and will follow the marking SOP. PIC will be responsible for signage kept in the gang truck.
  • PIC will designate what wells to sniff and document it on JSA, also document heat breaks as needed and be water captain.
  • PIC, when using the roller, will follow 1st gear policy on location and have a spotter. PIC will operate the roller in a safe manner and follow the SOP on rolling the road.
  • PIC will take care of tracking load count, and turn in all paper work at the end of shift.
  • PIC will participate in BBSM process and the Comm Whip as well; ALL RHC employees will use their stop work authority.
  • PIC will do an inspection on gang truck at end of the shift if any defects are found notify your supervisor and document it on your DVIR.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of six months experience in Oil/Gas/Petrochemical Construction desired.

Skills:

  • Must have excellent organizational, communication, and analytical abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of supervisors and employees. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.

Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of occupational safety and workplace hazard identification.

Other Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid California Driver’s License and State automobile insurance and acceptable driving record substantiated by a DMV printout.
  • Completion of substance abuse screening upon offer of employment.

  • Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements such as; hot and cold temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noise in which all are common oil and gas field exposures.
  • Work environment involves maximum exposure to physical risk, such as moving and operating equipment including working with chemicals and oils indicative with the Company’s industry.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit; use hands and fingers to touch, handle, and feel; and speak or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, and occasionally required to stop, kneel, bend, squat, and crouch. The employee must frequently lift 12 to 20 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move 21 to 50 lbs.
  • Some overtime and weekends will be required.
