Jr. Field Technician

Medley Services Inc. was established as an engineering services company to support the Wireless Industry to meet their nationwide 5G deployment goals in order to enhance broadband wireless connectivity throughout the US.

Medley is looking for an entry-level field technician to join our growing team. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to learn and perform base station and/or DC power installation work activities. Individuals must have some technical background and a strong work ethics.

Qualifications and Experience

• High School Diploma required. Some college or technical school is a plus.
• 1 – 2 years of relevant experience in the wireless, telecom or data networking fields is expected.
• Be able to demonstrate experience in telecom equipment installation, cell site construction, or rack and stack.
• Knowledge of Ethernet and/or Fiber optic cabling, cable management, termination and methodology is a plus. Experience with base station installation, DC Power and/or RF cabling and termination is desirable.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work within Maintenance Window hours (midnight to 6am) or daytime and weekends as scheduled based on project scope and adhere reliably to schedule.
• Ability to travel within a region/market and may be required to travel out of market on a project basis, as needed.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather throughout the year.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and climb a 12 ft. ladder; able to use basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Receive assignments and deploy to cell site locations to work in the shadow of an experienced field integrator.
• Show keen interest to learn how to do various field activities related to installation, commissioning, and integration of customer’s telecom equipment at cell sites.
• Learn to develop working knowledge of the SOW/RFDS, and to follow the MOP (method of procedure) as provided by the project manager.
• Can work in a helper role to the senior technician as well as handle minor tasks independently.
• Ensure all work is completed within allotted schedule and meets Medley’s as well as customer’s applicable quality standards, and performance requirements.
• Functional call testing using a smart phone with a test app.
• Responsible to pick-up OEM equipment from customer or company warehouse location and care for, scan and report on equipment disposition.
• Log detailed daily activities during on-site efforts.
• Conduct and act professionally and be always presentable on customer premises.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $35.00 per hour
