Junior Copywriter - Hybrid from Portland, OR.

To make real connections, brands need to tell a compelling story. And that’s where you come in. Matter is looking for a Junior Copywriter to join our team in Newburyport or Boston, MA. Your role will be to help us craft the storytelling elements necessary to create valuable engagement. Working with our Integrated, Creative and Social teams, you’ll be responsible for developing engaging, on-brand content while working to merge the written word with visual concepts. An open mind, a willingness to learn and strong opinions about grammar are required.

The successful candidate will:

• Work closely with the Integrated, Creative and Social teams to craft compelling brand stories for clients that help them stand out against the competition.
• Ensure all messaging and content are on-brand and on-mission, and adjust writing style across a wide range of brands.
• Collaborate with teams to create brand strategies and campaign development, bringing the big ideas to life through compelling storytelling.
• Assist in content development projects, including marketing campaigns, social posting, website content, blog posts and more.
• Demonstrate the ability to write with clarity, technical accuracy and creativity across a wide range of B2B and B2C industries.

Along with a great portfolio of work, your previous experience and attributes will include:

• 1-3 years of relevant content creation experience working in both B2B and B2C industries.
• Experience working in the modern marketing landscape.
• The ideal candidate will be conceptual, collaborative and highly creative, helping to come up with big ideas, and execute against timelines.
• Experience working in an agency environment across a range of creative assignments (headlines, ad copy, campaign work, web copy, etc.). Proficiency working on social media campaigns is a plus.
• A strong portfolio featuring diverse writing experience that demonstrates a range of writing styles and ability to adapt tone, format and voice.
