Shifts Available: 7am-4pm; 4pm-1am; 10pm-7am

As a member of our Kitchen team, Porters are the backbone of kitchen operations. In a high volume setting, they are responsible for properly cleaning and sanitizing all dishes, utensils, pots, and pans. In addition they ensure that all equipment (mixer, table, sheeter, storage container, etc) are properly cleaned and sanitized. Your attention to detail in the daily cleaning and organizing tasks are key in the successful operation of the kitchen. An interest in kitchen equipment maintenance as well as their proper functioning will allow you to further your role within the Porter and Kitchen teams. You will organize assigned areas to help ensure production is completed on time and the work areas remains clean, organized, and orderly. Just as important, you prioritize tasks by following daily production needs and/or understanding product usage, while executing these tasks with excellence and meeting Citarella’s standards.

Responsibilities:

• Learn to operate dish machines to company and manufacturer specifications
• Restock all dishes, utensils, pots and pans
• Keep dish and other areas of kitchen clean and organized
• Clean, sweep, scrub and sanitize floors, drainers, freezer and cooler
• Removal of garbage and recycle; clean out waste bins/trash cans
• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots or pans.
• Help maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
• Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations and refrigerators.
• Transfer supplies or equipment between storage and work areas.
• In addition, other duties maybe required as directed by your team lead, supervisor, and/or manager.

Requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy objects 20-75 lbs with assistance
• Safe handling and operation of kitchen equipment
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Physically able to work within various temperature-controlled environment.
• Other duties may be assigned as business needs change.
