Essential Functions:

This position performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.


Job Requirements:

Current NM RN licensure or appropriate compact licensure

Associate’s degree required

Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications:
OB Department Registered Nurses are required to obtain AWHONN, STABLE and ACLS, in addition to the BLS and NRP certifications required for their position.

New Hires must have current BLS upon hire, are required to obtain NRP within ninety (90) days from hire, and will be required to obtain AWHONN, STABLE and ACLS within six (6) months from hire or transfer into position

Newly graduated RNs must have Current BLS upon hire. Must obtain NRP, AWHONN, STABLE and ACLS within one year from hire.

New hires will have ninety (90) days from date of hire to obtain American Heart Association
certifications. Notwithstanding this ‘grace period’ for obtaining American Heart Association
certifications, employees are not excused from being current in any and all existing certifications
that are required for their position as outlined in the position job description.
