Landscape/Mow/Maintenance Crew Leader
Reports to: Operations Manager
Supervises: N/A
Position Overview:
The Landscape/Mow/Maintenance Crew Leader, directs all post-construction maintenance activities at the job site in accordance to pre-established schedules, specifications, and procedures established by Company policy.
The Crew Leader, Landscape Maintenance is responsible for coordinating and controlling his work team to ensure timely completion as per pre-determined schedules. Though he has complete crew authority, he shall report to and seek direction from the Production Supervisor/Account Manager Landscape Maintenance on a daily basis.
Position Details:
- Salary: $18.00-$23/hour, based upon experience
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods of time, work in the elements.
- Work Schedule: Hours vary based on seasonal needs, must be flexible. Typically M-F, 7a-5p.
- Work Location: 1789 Rock Rd. Walled Lake, Michigan 48390
- Work Conditions: Outside, in the elements
- Travel: 0%
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in the pre-maintenance conference when possible to familiarize himself with the job peculiarities and offer practical advice pertaining to the various project schedules and budgets
- Organize, direct, and request the proper equipment needed for timely project completion
- Organize, direct, and request needed personnel and subcontractors for timely project completion, with Supervisor assistance
- Continually review changes in methods, schedules, and procedures and improve where necessary
- Maintain a close working relationship with the Supervisor to ensure proper delegation of responsibilities
- Ensure proper paper flow to and from the office
- Suspend or dismiss any personnel on the project site not performing according to the pre-determined procedures or schedule as directed by his Supervisor
- Seek the approval of the Supervisor concerning the suspension of any subcontractor not performing according to pre-determined schedules
- Submit time sheets daily and other written reports as required
- Update the job diary, daily
- Alert the Supervisor of current or potential problems on the job as soon as possible
- Continuously train and evaluate the personnel under his direction
- Advise the Supervisor as to equipment and small tool condition and needs
- Co-ordinate material deliveries with the Supervisor
- Insure proper, quality supervision on his job site
- Performs any other assignments as requested by the supervisor
- Fosters a spirit of cooperation between all with whom it deals
- Learns the job of the next immediate supervisor
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and insurability; preferred but not required
- Ability to operate a truck and trailer
- Ability to push, pull, lift, or move up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Ability to work outdoors in all elements
