POSITION TITLE: Machinist I (Lathe Operator) FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

LOCATION: Ambridge, PA DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing

SUPERVISED BY: Working Shop Supervisor – Machining Number of Direct Reports: 0

First shift: 7:00 AM TO 3:00 PM

The Role

Under the direction of the Working Shop Supervisor, the Machinist I (Lathe Operator) is responsible

for Initiating machining processes, tool selections, feeds, and speeds for a variety of materials.

• Maintain production rates according to established standards.

• Notify Supervisor with any problems of procedures or equipment.

• Performs set-ups and operate Manual Lathe Machine.

Job Specific Competencies

• Capable of using a micrometer, calipers, and hand tools.

• Ability to read blueprints.

• Skilled on an overhead crane.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 1 year of machine shop experience.

Physical Capabilities

• Wear personal protective equipment most of the time

• Ascend, descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs

• Work in confined spaces

• Work in proximity to loud equipment

Lift and carry or otherwise move 25 50 80 pounds regularly/occasionally

• Respond quickly to sounds

• Safely climb ladders while carrying up to 40 pounds

• Remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time

• Inspect, measure products and equipment

• Use standard office equipment, move files, open filing cabinets and bend/stand as necessary

• Work required shift(s): 6:00AM to 2:00PM or 6:00AM to 4:00PM, weekend OT
