Position Summary

Provide contract interpretation and negotiation support for High Voltage Switchgear Division.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all contract reviews, supporting in customer negotiations, assistance in PO review, LOA generation, and NDA reviews for HVSD Sales.

In addition, you will be responsible for assisting HVSD Purchasing, Engineering and CRT where needed for various NDA and commercial contract negotiations. You will also support in training HVSD sales and commercial facing professionals to increase overall commercial knowledge within the division.

Essential Functions

  • Provide contractual terms and conditions review support for the High Voltage Switchgear Division, for sales orders, sales and purchasing contracts.
  • Perform risk analysis and propose suggestions to keep contracts within the Company Limits of Authority policy. Work with Contracts Manager and in-house legal counsel as required.
  • Participate in direct negotiations with customers and suppliers when requested.
  • Upon request, assist in the preparation or review of Limits of Authority summaries, Red Books, requisitions, and purchase orders.
  • When required, provide contractual terms and conditions training for HVSD, for both sales and purchasing contracts.
  • Assist in internal training Self-motivated and independent Strong writing skills Process oriented

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related discipline and a minimum of 5 years’ experience working with commercial contracts for international equipment and services sales or equivalent education and experience.
  • LEGAL DEGREE STRONGLY PREFERRED
  • Advanced knowledge of contract language and techniques for developing and interpreting contracts.
  • Advanced verbal and written communications skills.
  • Developed consulting and negotiating skills for negotiating commercial terms and conditions with customers and suppliers.
  • Familiarity with inquiry to invoice processes.
  • Developed computer skills with strong emphasis on MS Office products.
  • Ideal candidate would have experience on the selling or purchasing side for equipment manufactures.
  • Quality minded and responsive attitude who anticipates the needs of internal and external customers with the ability to evaluate contractual risk vs. probability of occurrence to look for creative ways to commercially support our customers both in redlined contracts and verbal negotiations.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong speaking and presentation skills when addressing customers
