LHEAP Utility Assistance Program Application Processing Support
Job description
Reports To: HEAP Energy Education Manager
Position Summary: Responsibility for reviewing applications for accuracy and verify eligibility of documentation for processing. The APS will also provide assistance with proper understanding of documentation required for service and assistance with the completion of forms.
Essentials Duties
· Reviews all mail in- applications for accuracy prior to entering data in computer for two programs.
· Review applicant documentation to verify eligibility
· Enters and tracks customer data into the data processing system to process customer
payments and to generate customized reports for two programs.
· Generates weekly rejection reports to ensure for accuracy.
· Contact applicant with rejected applications that need corrections and re-transports each record to funding source for processing.
· Maintain daily/weekly/monthly reports to ensure targeted goals are being met.
· Ensures customer files are maintained in compliance with reporting and auditing
requirements of two funding sources.
· Performs general clerical support functions including filing, copying, faxing,
typing, processing applications and data entry.
· Process and complete customer applications.
· Maintain and enter customer information on to a mail log for all incoming mail.
· Maintains confidentiality of all information and handles sensitive and confidential
information in accordance with established procedures.
· Attends trainings, meetings and other program activities initiated by program
partners.
· Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· 3 years Application Processing Or Eligibility Verification Experience
· 1 year of customer service and clerical experience
· Read, understand, speak and write English at a level appropriate for the
position.
· Read and comprehend relevant contracts, regulations, policy, procedures, management directives, and other appropriate program information.
· Ability to make decisions in standard procedural matters without immediate supervision.
· Ability to complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.
· Perform work duties with an appropriate level of proficiency required by the
job in word processing, email, calendar, spreadsheet, database and
presentation applications, including but not limited to, recent versions of
Windows, MS office, and the Internet.
Knowledge
Working knowledge of basic principles of various customer services programs. Familiarity
with establishing and maintaining strong customer service relations with a wide range
of social and ethnic groups. Obtain and record accurate information.
Typical Physical Requirements
Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; normal manual dexterity and eye
Hand coordination; lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds from one place to
another; corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
Typical Working Conditions
Work is normally performed inside in an office environment; contact with other staff
and public; moderate level of noise.
Schedule : Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Pay Rate : $20 per hour
