Position Description

Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided.

This recruitment is for the vacancy of Licensed Psychologist 2 - located at Lake’s Crossing Center in Sparks, NV. The incumbent will provide administrative oversight for the Psychologist department that incorporates legal and civil commitments to include specialty courts for individuals of all ages with behavioral health disorders who are involved with the criminal or juvenile justice systems. The incumbent must demonstrate forensics experience through training and work history; must also possess experience in leadership and supervision: he/she will supervise and train the psychology team staff and provide direct clinical services in accordance with license requirements of the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners. The position will require collaboration and partnership with multidisciplinary treatment teams and individual clinicians for clinical consultative services and Agency Managers in the design and implementation of programs. Incumbent will also be required to: plan, develop and coordinate program services to meet the needs of the population served; participate in committees and facility activities in developing service delivery needs assessments and evaluations and policies and procedures; assist in writing and administering grants; prepare documentation required for budget development; monitor expenditures; and participate in accrediting and quality review programs.

Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of the Psychologist department at Lake’s Crossing Center; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives. The Psychologist 2 is part of a leadership team that will report directly to the Agency Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of post-doctoral experience in providing psychological services in an inpatient, outpatient or residential setting, which must have included one year of experience in the supervision of clinicians.
  • Current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at the time of appointment and maintenance of licensure as a condition of continuing employment.

Special Requirements

  • Some positions require work on evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Licensed Psychologist I's and Licensed Psychologist II's must possess current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at the time of appointment and maintain licensure as a condition of continuing employment.
