The Lodge & Housing Manager at Woodward West is responsible for all aspects of housing, housekeeping and hospitality services at all properties owned by Woodward. Woodward West is home to a 24-bedroom Lodge and houses up to 350 campers in an array of cabins along with up to 150 staff and VIPs in various housing accommodations located on and off the main campus. The Lodge & Housing Manager will oversee the placement of staff, campers, and VIPs in appropriate housing, resolve any housing conflicts, and ensure that cleaning standards are being adhered to with a focus on enhancing the guest experience. The Lodge & Housing Manager will ensure that the housing needs of our guests, staff, and campers are being met in a prompt, appropriate and high touch manner. This position resides at the Lodge.

The Lodge & Housing Manager should be knowledgeable in an array of hotel industry practices and must be willing to evolve and adapt with the needs of the business.

Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $20.00 to $21.63+ actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

Passionate People
  • Hire and recruit new and returning staff including but not limited to lodge and housing staff and coordinators as well as housekeeping staff and supervisors via applications, social media, and industry resources
  • Train and develop staff to ensure highest standards of hospitality service and guest experience are executed to Woodward standards
  • Evaluate housing staff to ensure all set policies and procedures are being adhered to and performance levels are above expectations
  • Support staff and ensure they have the appropriate tools to carry out their job duties
  • Lead weekly meetings to discuss current issues, scheduling, and safety standards
  • Inspect and track all properties and units to ensure regular repair & maintenance is performed
  • Establish regular housing inspections and hold individuals accountable when not meeting expectations
  • Develop and design revenue and labor models to properly maintain and execute each property
Dynamic Programming
  • Ensure housing accommodations always remain ready for guests
  • Meet needs of guests, campers, and staff by effective housing placement
  • Work with F&B and other hospitality teams to ensure accommodations and food service is provided to Woodward standards
  • Work with Programming, Events and Rec departments to ensure animation and activity schedules are in place for all Lodge guests
Innovative Environments (Facilities and Equipment)
  • Provide a warm and welcome atmosphere for our VIPs, campers, and staff
  • Set cleaning standards, procedures, and guidelines along with systems to adhere to
  • Complete walkthroughs of accommodations on a scheduled and random basis
  • Recommend improvements to housing facilities and standards
Requirements:

Experience
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the Hospitality/Hotel Industry
  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
  • Experience working in a Camp environment is preferred
  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • Health and Safety Certifications (or ability to obtain)
  • Darkness to Light Certified
  • Mandated Reporter
  • CPR / AED Certification
  • Safe Sport
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Able to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Basic/Schedule Requirements
  • Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50lbs.
  • Must be comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor all-season environment.
  • Lodge residency preferred
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings
  • Willing to travel as needed
  • Food is provided during summer camp season
  • Must successfully-pass a background screening to ensure suitability of contact with minor children and the public, in accordance with Federal, state and local jurisdictions
