Job Summary

As a dispatcher at J & M, you are expected to assist J & M executives with all tasks assigned to you as well as maintain and improve client satisfaction, seek out cost-effective and quality carriers, ensure you have met all company requirements with carriers prior to scheduling shipments, and work with Operations and Management to cover all freight awarded to J & M. We are looking for focused, diligent, and determined individuals who are ready to accept the challenges that come their way.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Completely understand and follow all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs.
• Complete tasks assigned by executive assistant and/or executive.
• Contact carriers to establish and maintain relationships.
• Input carrier information into J & M system and ensure all necessary documentation has been received and stored.
• Cover all freight in the most cost-effective way possible while using the highest quality carrier available.
• Update carrier information and documentation as necessary per J & M guidelines.
• Efficiently perform tasks assigned by the executive in a timely manner.
• Update executive assistant and executive on all matters pertaining to their clientele.
• Maintain customer satisfaction and improve client relationships where necessary.
• Provide carrier(s) with all necessary information to perform pickups and deliveries as required by the customer.
• Assist dispatch in obtaining any additional/missing shipment-related information from customers and/or consignees.
• In the event of a claim, work with Operations and the Claims department to gather all necessary information to resolve the claim as quickly and amicably as possible.
• Meet/Exceed goals set by your immediate supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills

• Must have a minimum of two years experience in transportation/logistics
• Functional in MS Office programs (specifically Excel and Word)
• Requires skill in arithmetic as well as critical thinking skills
• Must be detail-oriented
• HS diploma required
• Reliable transportation to and from the workplace is mandatory
• Be willing to undergo standard hiring testing and verifications in accordance with local and state law/regulations

Benefits

J & M will pay 100% of medical insurance premium (up to maximum per month) for employee and all eligible dependents via BCBSIL. Dental is offered but employee paid.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
