This role is responsible for the oversight and management of domestic and international transportation strategy and execution. This role will work closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Sourcing to create and maintain a scalable transportation network. This individual will provide guidance on industry trends, anticipated risk and impact to the business while guiding the transportation network for the supply chain.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as main point of contact to manage third party carriers to achieve efficient, cost effective and reliable transportation solutions of all modes (ocean, rail, truckload, flatbed, LTL and Parcel).
  • Analyze and develop a transportation strategy that aligns to the operating model, supply chain and distribution activities while driving high service, cost effective solutions.
  • Responsible for development of mode routing guides, performance KPI’s and budgeting and cost analysis for inbound and outbound flow of goods.
  • Analyze and manage carrier performance, quality and cost through the use of benchmarks and scorecards.
  • Responsible for creation of the transportation annual financial plan and related financial planning activites and reporting.
  • Lead freight audit process as it relates to all modes of services.
  • Work collaboratively and foster strong working relationships with Operations, Sales, Manufacturing and sourcing to create cost effective, high service solutions.
  • Collaborate with business partners in developing and implementing technology solutions and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job-specific work experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of Logistics and Transportation management experience
  • Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively
  • Strong decision-making skills and an understanding of where projects fit into overall Company and development strategies.
  • Strategic thinking – ability to establish the vision and future direction to enable to company to maintain a leadership role in the professions and industry
  • Ability to communicate clearly with internal and external customers, lead conversations/meetings and influence others
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic work environment and manage competing priorities
  • Drive cross-functional projects to support new strategic initiatives and business opportunities for the organization.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
