JOB SUMMARY

The Custom Door Builder/Millworker will measure, cut, and assemble wooden door and window parts, carefully crafting doors and windows. Strict attention to detail and ability to measure accurately are critical aspects of this role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively and efficiently follow all quality and safety procedures, as specified by Safety Data Sheets and other guides
  • Program, set up, run and clean several machines within the workstation
  • Be attentive to detail and quality, ensuring that all projects fulfill our quality standards
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and leaders
  • Maintain all equipment used on the job
  • Notify leadership immediately of any problems with equipment or other observed safety risks
  • Interact and communicate in a professional and effective manner with all levels of employees, leadership, executives, and customers.
  • Understand detailed architectural drawings, shop drawings, and blueprints
  • Receive and inspect raw materials to ensure quality
  • Store raw materials in an organized matter
  • \Prepare and set up machines and tooling for woodworking
  • Using power tools such as mills, saws, and joiners
  • Use hand tools and hardware to assemble raw materials
  • Using pneumatic tools such as nail guns
  • Analyzing and resolving work problems
  • Execute quality control inspections throughout the build process ensuring that finished materials are free of defects

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

· Assist in keeping production area clean and organized.

· Assist in unloading wood product shipments.

· Attend company meetings as required.

· Maintain constant communication with General/Production Manager.

· Sharing and demonstrating best practices with production team.

· Demonstrate time management, planning, and organizational skills.

· Exhibits a positive can-do attitude.

· Ability to adapt and change to priorities and conditions.

· High personal integrity, character, morals and ethics.

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:

· Knowledge of woodworking

  • Experience operating power tools and equipment
  • Wood finish experience
  • Ability to handle and move wood products carefully to maintain quality
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Assembly, construction, and/or manufacturing experience
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Dependable with a good history of attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team setting
  • Experience reading shop drawings
  • Task driven and self-starter

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:

  • Work is performed in a warehouse environment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand for long periods of time; use computer to enter data; read labels, signs, measuring devices, and information on computer screens.
  • The employee is regularly required to: perform repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement, feel the attributes of objects, grasp, push, and reach with arms or hands.
  • Regularly lifting, pushing, and pulling a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to noise and dust in the warehouse.
  • Regularly wearing PPE, including but not limited to closed-toe shoes and eye and ear protection.
