We have exciting opportunities for Machine Operators in our manufacturing plant in Lawton, OK! These positions will start at $20.75/hour and are required to work 12-hour shifts (9:00 - 9:00 on a 2/2/3 continental schedule).

Job Summary

We are seeking reliable, hard-working individuals who are looking for a long-term career and have a keen eye to detail. The successful candidates will focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Principal Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation of extruders and associated equipment such as hoppers, material loaders, extruder vacuum systems, regrind loaders and carbon black feeders
• Perform quality checks using micrometers, calibers, pi-tapes and tape measures
• Package pipe in accurate pallet sizes and quantities and document production
• Ability to use basic hand tools and operate of forklift
• Identify, transfer, and load material for production
• Inspect and report potential unsafe or hazardous conditions
• Identify, remove and report scrap in compliance with work instructions
• Troubleshoot problems that involve multiple-choice options and determine the most appropriate course of action
• Support and stay in sync with the efforts of the Joint, Health & Safety Committee (JHSC)
• Maintain acceptable housekeeping, environmental and safe working conditions
• Perform a variety of other tasks as required

Requirements

• High School diploma or certificate of completion is preferred; must be 18 years old
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred; plastics experience is an asset
• Stable work history exhibiting a commitment to a long-term career vs. job hopping
• Must be knowledgeable in measurement systems and basic math
• Experience operating a forklift is considered an asset
• Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must be a self-starter with good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills coupled with an eagerness to learn
• Good team player with a demonstrated ability to contribute to and foster a positive team environment
• Must be able to work 12-hour continental shifts (9:00 – 9:00); previous experience working 12-hour shifts is an asset
• Successful completion of drug screen, physical, & background check is required

Working Conditions

• Requires good mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods, bending, and lifting up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
• The use of hand tools
• Fast-paced environment where a considerable amount of sensory attention is required
