Location: Wolfe Industrial, Inc. shop
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Shop Foreman
Supervises: No one
Job Summary:
This person is expected to have a basic understanding of operation of the following machines.
- Band saw
- Lathe
- Power press
- Drill press
OJT will supplement current understanding and increased levels are expected with time. In addition, this person must be able to effectively communicate with both shop and field personnel and handle himself in a professional manner. This person may also be responsible for delivering product to job sites and picking up materials as needed.
Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, able to lift up to 50 lbs., complete basic math and layout functions, read a tape measure and understand basic blueprints, able to operate basic hand tools, and operate a forklift.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manually load and unload product onto work tables up to 50 lbs. in weight.
- Operate a forklift.
- Operate fabrication equipment quickly, safely, and efficiently – including the shears, press brakes, drill presses, bench grinders, and band saws.
- Use common hand tools for fabrication of product – including power drills, die grinders, hammers, band saws, etc.
- Safely rig product for lifting purposes while fabricating, testing, etc.
Other:
- Clean up work area at the end of each shift.
- Stock raw materials as needed.
- Operate overhead crane.
- Drive company vehicles.
Context Information:
Will be held solely accountable and responsible for all work performed on the job. All responsibilities will take place in a well-lit environment, whether indoors or outdoors.
Supplementary Information- Machines, Tools, Equipment and Work Aids (MTEWA) required for completion of function
The following items will be utilized by the MACHINE OPERATOR /FABRICATOR to successfully fulfill the requirements of this position:
- Personal protective equipment
- Forklift
- Straps, Rope, come-a-longs, and other rigging used for lifting purposes
- Company vehicle
- Fabrication Equipment/Machinery
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license
- Current DOT Health Card
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- The ability to read, write, and complete basic mathematic computations
- The desire to learn and the eagerness to accept other tasks and learning opportunities as they present themselves
