Job description
Lead, develop, and empower our Maintenance Team to efficiently repair & maintain equipment, maintain facilities, and create sustainable improvements in a way that meets or exceeds internal and external customer expectations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • You routinely evaluate the technical needs of the plant and equipment, ensuring the equipment is functioning in accordance with service requirements.
  • You quickly assess the daily demands within the maintenance realm, prioritizing and delegating resources as required.
  • You respond to requests quickly and maintain relations with external contractors.
  • You empower your team to make decisions while challenging them to find better methods and robust solutions, and ensure that for every core task in your team’s skills matrix, at least two people are fully competent.
  • You collaborate with a variety of managers, internal engineers, contractors, and equipment suppliers regarding various projects. This includes the Hillsboro plant, the Newton warehouses, and the Local Pack Facilities.
  • You ensure that your team maintains quality records accurately, consistently conducts quality inspections and notifies you if something doesn’t look quite right.
  • You use internal systems to ensure that we maintain an adequate inventory of critical parts, and to track scheduled maintenance on equipment. You order parts as needed, and ensure timely delivery of these parts
  • You oversee new equipment installation, preventative maintenance (PM's), lock-out tag-out procedures, and all maintenance and repair tasks, to ensure machines are functioning efficiently.

TOOLKIT/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • You have strong computer skills, troubleshooting skills, basic electrical skills, and sound mechanical/repair skills
  • You have a "can-do" attitude and stay calm under pressure, while being open to changes.
  • You have excellent leadership, collaboration and interpersonal skills. You are able to develop a unique approach based on a specific situation or a specific team's needs.
  • You are efficient, organized, able to multi-task and prioritize daily/long term needs.
  • You are approachable and have excellent customer service skills.
  • You have a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience (strongly preferred)
