Hopkins Park Plaza is hiring an experienced Maintenance Technician. Hopkins Park Plaza is under a major renovation of fully furnished studio and apartments. Our community is just minutes away from downtown Minneapolis, the MSP airport, major retailers and malls; public transportation is just steps away. We pride ourselves at providing excellent customer service by our skilled, friendly and enthusiastic staff and offer quality, all-inclusive, pet-friendly furnished studio apartments for short- or long-term residency; we offer corporate and month-to-month leases with rent being charged WEEKLY; leases require a minimum one month stay and a 30 day notice to vacate.
The Maintenance Technician works directly with the Property Manager to ensure the timely completion of all assigned maintenance duties. This position is Monday thru Friday 9am- 6pm. Rotating on-call for after hours. Must provide own tools.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs general plumbing, electrical, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) repairs.
- Conducts preventive maintenance to ensure that plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems continue operating properly.
- Obtains services of outside contractors when repairs require specialized training.
- Performs general cleaning tasks in the facility.
- Maintains inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repair.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools - must provide your own
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must have a Boilers license or be able to obtain within 6 months of employment.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl into awkward spaces.
- Must be able 50 pounds at a time.
