New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources is seeking a Manager Training and Field support to oversee all NJNG field training and training personnel, ensure all required employees are OQ (Operator Qualification) certified. Work with American Gas Association, Northeast Gas Association and other appropriate agencies to ensure NJNG is aware of any new training requirements or certifications. Ensure outside contractors are OQ certified.

Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
  • Ensure that the 48-Month Distribution Apprentice Training Program, in accord with the Articles of Agreement, is maintained
  • Oversee the OQ requirements of the company and its contractors and verify compliance
  • Monitor all the training records and ensure that they are current
  • Review lesson plans and schedule updates as necessary due to changes in Company policies, procedures and standards, as well as new technologies
  • Interact with vendors of equipment and materials used by our employees in the normal course of their duties
  • Be prepared for injects from the internal customers
  • Monitor compliance, by communicating with the Safety Administrator, that all employees are trained and/or refreshed in accordance with OSHA requirements
  • Be prepared to conduct Supervisory training as needed
  • All other duties as assigned by the Vice President, Energy Delivery
  • Conduct annual needs assessments and determination of all skill levels
  • Prepare and monitor the budget for Training verifying all expenditures
  • Complete any company policy associated with the Technical Training Consultants
  • Participate on the company’s Security Committee by attending meetings inside and outside the organization. Assist with completing job tasks as required or requested by the Security Committee.
Position Specifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience required
  • 4-6 years experience in field operations or prior training experience required
  • Working knowledge of state and federal regulations affecting utility training and evaluation
  • Strong PC skills, including experience using MS Office and MS Outlook
  • Excellent organizational skills and communication skills are necessary
