Position: Quality Assurance Technician - Industrial

Location: Danvers MA - 01923

Duration: 6 Months contract

Pay Rate: $25/hr.

Shifts: 7:00 AM - 3:30PM - Monday - Friday

Job Summary:

Summary
This self-motivated individual is responsible for inspection of all products at Motion Industry operations and conducting testing procedures during and after manufacturing processes to ensure that products comply with quality standards. They perform the following duties personally or through non-supervisory direct reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Interprets engineering drawings and diagrams, confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
2. Dimensionally inspect raw material, finished parts and tooling to drawings, purchase order and applicable documentation using callipers, gauges and other required tooling.
3. Coordinate compliance with all applicable standards such as ISO 9000, and other applicable customer requirements.
4. Review product and process non-conformance and recommend actions including but not limited to modifications of processes, products or QA standards where warranted. Report to management on quality issues, trends, and losses.
5. Selects products for testing and inspection at specified stages in production process for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics.
6. Record results of inspections by part number and department in an inspection log and maintain an inspection data sheet for each lot of material and tooling inspected.
7. Requests changes to QA plans, tolerances, and other required process control procedures to ensure processes, work in progress and finished goods meet the specified quality standards.
8. Conducts receiving inspection and testing as required on purchases.
9. Utilize standard mechanical instruments, functional gauges and test rigs and testing equipment.
10. Process associated documentation including process tags, rework tags and nonconforming material documents.
11. Completes Corrective Action Reports.
12. Educate and instruct plant personnel in recommended quality requirements. Accept responsibility of training and preparing employees for inspection tasks.
13. Logs, tracks, and co-ordinates the Employee Training Program.
14. Provide technical expertise and transfer knowledge to other members of the operations.
15. Assist in identifying and conducting operations training endeavours.
16. Communicate daily with all departments.
17. Performs related duties assigned by supervisor.
18. Attend work regularly and predictably and uphold Company values in all work aspects.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as statistics, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Will have a thorough knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, process improvement, and warehouse methods. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be a highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently and accountably and inspire high performance from a team. Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
