Job Description:
This position is responsible for providing process engineering support to the production lines and improving assembly processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform time studies and line balancing on assembly lines.
- Support facility layout and improvement projects.
- Train operators on assembly processes.
- Propose and implement improvements to existing products, processes, and procedures.
- Design and implement new tools to help improve quality and productivity.
- Work with Test and Quality Engineers to reduce cycle-time and resolve manufacturing issues on a timely basis.
- Assist Process Engineer in NPI (New Product Introduction) and process improvement.
- Provide production floor support as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Tact Time Analysis, Lean production methods, KanBan, and lean manufacturing
- Understanding of quality systems such as Six Sigma
- Knowledge of Manufacturing BOM (bill of material) structure
- AutoCAD, Visio, and SAP knowledge
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving, and prioritization skills
- Proven ability to function independently and multi-task
- Must have ability to remain flexible in a dynamic work environment
Education and Experience:
- Minimum Associate’s degree with 2 years of process, industrial, or manufacturing engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred.
- Contract manufacturing experience is a plus.
