EPC Power Corp. is now looking for a Manufacturing Technician to join our team in Poway, CA.
Job Summary:
As a Manufacturing Technician, you will be working with a team of dedicated, creative and technical forces behind the design and development of new power conversion systems. Your experience with engineering drawing, wiring schematics, electronic components, and assembly standards will help create these products. You will perform a wide range of skilled repetitive assembly, work independently or as part of a team, operate machinery, lift up to 50 lbs. and perform cleaning operations on a daily basis and in a safe manner. Your hard work, passion, problem solving skills and manufacturing experience will help us create products used around the world. This position requires solid interpersonal & team skills, demonstrated talent, a strong self-motivation and self- starting attitude, and an enthusiasm that starts in the design phase and continues until the product is successfully operating to customer’s requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Read and redline electrical schematics
- Wiring and labeling experience
- Knowledgeable in the functionality of electrical components
- Participates in first time production runs of new products
- Experience of first article panel and enclosure wiring
- Ability to work from verbal instructions (e.g. is given a box of components/parts and is communicated to as to what to do; can create a sketch from this as well)
- Ability to create layout sketches/drawings of where to place components
- Able to troubleshoot electrical circuits using a multi-meter
- Performs a wide range of skilled repetitive mechanical assembly operations in support of production projects
- Assembles, modifies, reworks, and/or reassembles production components utilizing drawings, pick tickets, process documentation, and/or verbal instructions
- Prepares and utilizes basic hand tools including but not limited to power screwdriver, ruler, solder iron, heat gun, vise, solder gun, crimpers, wire strippers, torque wrenches and fabrication tools
- Cleans parts prior to production use as required
- Ability to use computer system and see if parts are in inventory
- Participates in continuous improvement and team building activities; maintains productive working relationships with all team members
- Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of all applicable safety regulations and considerations
- Assists with creation of work instructions and bills of material as needed
- Completes all required paperwork; prepares required reports and correspondence
- Performs clean-up, organization, and tool inventory activities; 5S
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Required skills:
- Four years+ of work related experience.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
- Ability to identify colors.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and wire schematics and do redlines.
- Familiarity with various mechanical and electrical measuring equipment.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Acute attention to detail.
- Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

- Proficient in standard and metric systems.
- Good computer literacy, general knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
