Roxbury Tenants of Harvard Association, Inc. (RTH) is a non-profit housing and human service organization that was founded by residents of the neighborhood in 1969. Our mission is to ensure community participation in decision-making, to foster the improvement of housing, recreation, and related facilities for the residents of the Mission Hill area of Boston, and to improve the social and economic condition of the community.

RTH Health and Wellness is seeking a creative, dynamic person who will translate our program impact into a broader movement to strengthen the capacity of diverse, everyday adults to drive change on community issues.

The Marketing Director will drive the creation and implementation of our marketing strategy to advance our overall strategic goals, especially the growth of our employer partners and general awareness You will be focused on telling our story using social media to reach multiple stakeholders (e.g., organizations, businesses, residents, community groups). You will collaborate directly with the RTH Health and Wellness team and be an integral part of a high-impact, up-and-coming social enterprise.

Responsibilities:

This is a role for someone who enjoys story-telling, strategic thinking, and building long-term, collaborative partnerships. In addition to the key responsibilities listed below and over time, this role may evolve to support RTH Health and Wellness’ growth beyond RTH.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategy:

  • Develop a 1-year marketing strategy that supports RTH Health and Wellness’ annual strategic goals on employer partnership building, fundraising, and member recruitment
  • Design, plan and collaborate with RTH Health and Wellness founding team on staffing plan, budget, and other resources
  • Create performance metrics to track and evaluate the success of marketing efforts
  • Engage with RTH Health and Wellness founding team to regularly assess progress toward marketing goals and consider strategic adjustments
  • Develop recommendations on how to continuously improve our marketing strategy to advance our broader organizational goals

Implementation and Team Management

  • Execute and/or oversee the execution of marketing strategy in a timely and effective manner
  • Maintain and continuously strengthen RTH Health and Wellness’s online presence
  • Manage and coach marketing team including social media specialists (e.g., provide guidance and feedback on social media)
  • Monitor marketing progress and submit performance assessments
  • Collect photos, quotes, and stories for our program and key stakeholders

Partnership Building

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with marketing and communications partners, including external parties in media (online, radio, newspapers) as well as marketing leads at partner organizations
  • Identify and cultivate opportunities for broader awareness and thought leadership (e.g., panels, coalitions, op-eds)
  • Collaborate with founders to amplify Boston-based success stories to increase national presence and possibilities for expansion

About You

Your experience and skills

  • Prior experience developing and marketing a marketing and communications strategy in a startup, corporate, nonprofit, and/or government context
  • People leadership skills, including coaching and project management experience, including work-planning or process management
  • Superb organizational skills, with the ability to balance multiple and competing priorities and effectively delegate tasks
  • Grounds work in racial equity: analyzes and addresses the structural impacts of policies, practices, and decisions on different racial groups, and works to eliminate inequities and representation barriers
  • Enjoys working in a dynamic start-up environment and managing the complexities of multi-stakeholder collaboration
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $60.00 per hour
