Material Handler

Department: Stamping Date: Nov 7th, 2022

Schedule: 1st Shift / Monday – Friday / 6:00am – 2:30pm

Salary / Hourly Range: $17 - $19 hr. Hours per week: 40

Primary Purpose of job:
Provides support to the production team by maintaining accurate inventory counts, material handling, operating production equipment, assembling, and packaging orders according to the production schedule.

Essential functions of the job:

• Understand all department policies, procedures, and guidelines while maintaining a safe and clean work environment
• Supports production by loading workstations, staging, and moving material throughout the building as it relates to shop orders
• Safely operates all Burnishing room equipment related to the deburring process
• Assists Manager with maintaining accurate inventory counts relating to the ERP system
• Safely operates all Press room equipment related to production needs
• Supports receiving by verifying conformance to invoices and delivering all received components to the appropriate location
• Obtains, moves, sorts and packages materials as needed

Required skills and Abilities:

• Understanding of basic math skills – adding, subtracting, and measuring
• Ability to use measuring tools – calipers, tape measure, ruler, micrometer
• Ability to use judgement related to hazard identification
• Demonstrates a strong “team player” mentality
• Ability to multi-task and is detail oriented

Education and Experience:

• HS Diploma or GED preferred
• Forklift certification preferred

Physical Demands:

• This position requires 10% clerical and planning and 90% material handling, machine operation, and/or walking and assisting production employees.
• Safety glasses, hearing protection, and proper foot protection must be worn.
• Ability to lift weights up to 45 lbs.
