Job Summary
Unloading or loading a truck, picking an order, staging material to be delivered, assisting a customer with pickups or organizing the inventory on hand - working with product.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Move freight and stock to and from loading docks, delivery vehicles, storage areas, and production areas either manually or using equipment such as trucks, tractors, or forklifts.
- Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.
- Stage products based on customer orders; assist in filling customer orders.
- Receives credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supply codes, lot numbers, and quantities.
- Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
- Documents product shipment by recording units shipped.
- Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs.
- Document the numbers of units handled or moved each day using production sheets.
- Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks, ships, and loading docks.
- Learns and adheres to workplace safety regulations.
Education and Experience Profile
High school diploma or GED certificate is required.
Required Skills
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- 1 year warehouse experience.
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as work independently.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively.
- Must be dependable, detail-oriented and possess strong communication skills.
Work Environment:
- Working conditions are normal for a non-climate controlled warehouse environment.
- Must observe and adhere to all safety rules and practices, including PPE requirements.
- Work boots and long pants are a requirement of this position.
