Job description
Menzner Hardwoods Co. is seeking a mechanical design for 1st shift. This position is for a motivated individual looking to start their career as a Mechanical Engineer. To excel in this role, the candidate should be willing to learn to review specifications and other data to develop mechanical layouts. He/she will work with sales, engineers and clients to understand requirements for projects. Also works with manufacturing to make improvements and resolve issues, as well as purchasing to specify materials for projects.
Responsibilities:
Learn from Mechanical Designers how to work with engineering and clients to understand the needs and requirements for a new project or mechanical system.
Learn the process of determining material and specifications, then how to use CAD software to plan and develop models.
Work with manufacturing to make improvements and resolve issues.
Work in a team based environment to bring projects from concept to completion.
Provide support, including but not limited to: data entry, reports, scanning needs, and general office tasks.
Follow strict safety regulations.
Assist with other projects as needed.
Required experience or education as follows:
· An AA/AS or equivalent from 2-year College or technical school with Design/Mechanical Drafting focus
· Or Technical or vocation program completion with focus in mechanical design and drafting
· Or 2 years mechanical design experience
· Knowledge of AutoCAD design software
· Proficient with Microsoft Office.
· Willingness to be mentored and accept constructive feedback.
· Strong math and analytical skills.
· Solid verbal and written communication skills.

· Must have a strong work ethic.
· Must be well organized and a self-starter.
· Ability to work in a team environment and also to be mentored.
· Flexible and capable of successfully performing in a fast-paced environment.
