GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team at the Kesselring Site in West Milton, NY, which provides integral mission support to the DOE.
This position is full-time and will serve the Kesselring Site in West Milton, NY.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated Engineering Experience of increasing responsibility.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, teaming skills, and the ability to coordinate multi-discipline teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Building Codes for New York State and related standard requirements (for campus and industrial type facilities).
  • Experience with the development of engineering documents (e.g. design drawings, technical specifications and engineering analyses).

Clearance Level Required:
Uncleared - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Clearance

Overview:

  • Work in an autonomous teaming environment and provide timely, high quality, customer serviced based engineering solutions to challenging problems.
  • Conduct and document industrial hygiene exposure assessments as part of a comprehensive industrial hygiene assessment of site processes.
  • Define project scopes in close coordination with facility sponsors, evaluate system operations, work in the capacity of the project owner directing and overseeing engineering firms to develop concept designs, evaluations, and execution phase support.

Clearance & Citizenship Requirement:

  • To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
  • Due to the nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.

About the Site:

The Kesselring Site, located in West Milton, New York, is part of the the Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) which provides broad support for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program in the design, development, improvement, maintenance, training for operation of naval nuclear propulsion plants, and ultimate disposition of the plants (energy.gov).
