The Mechanical Engineering Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Mechanical Engineering department, including both administrative and technical aspects. The Mechanical Engineering Manager also serves on project teams and as a lead engineer under the general direction of the VP of Design.
Essential Functions
- Supervises mechanical engineers in production, inspection and review of drawings, ensuring quality and timeliness.
- Selects, approves and tests materials and supplies for quality and conformance to specifications.
- Reviews and improves cost reduction, maintenance, documentation, and other programs.
- Provides expertise to direct and strategize mechanical engineering design and implementation.
- Maintains a work schedule for the department and updates for staff meetings.
- Coordinates with project engineers to ensure staffing and technical aspects of each project are being met by the assigned department personnel.
- Coordinates the discipline design aspects of a project. This includes calculations and design drawings, as well as field work.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position is responsible for managing the mechanical engineering staff.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional licensure in the state of KY or ability to receive reciprocity.
- 10+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering.
