Medical Assistant
Centerpoint Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center and looking for Medical Assistants for our Middletown and Franklin, Ohio locations. This opportunity is for a full-time or part-time Medical Assistant. The candidate should have excellent customer service/patient skills, knowledge of medical terminology, familiarity with medications, phlebotomy, vitals, as well as computer proficiency. Demonstrate professionalism while providing Provider support, maintain good attendance, and adaptability with a strong desire to work as part of a team!
We are offering a SIGN-ON BONUS of $2,000.00, as well as a RETENTION BONUS OF $1,000.00!
Generous PTO with full-time employment earning up to 4 weeks in the first year!
Off early on Fridays, with only working (half day) Saturdays in a rotation!

Responsibilities and Duties:
· Assist primary care providers with procedures.
· Work to facilitate patient flow and ensure an accurate and complete medical record for each patient.
· Clean, prepare and break down exam rooms; pre and post treatment.
· “Room” patients, take vitals, determine visit concern, and document review of systems.
· Answer and return patient calls.
· Complete other front and back office functions as needed.
· Registration and scheduling activities.
· Process prescription refills, conduct prior authorizations and pre-certifications.
· Collect, enter, and track patient data within the electronic record, and other databases without errors.
· Assist with referrals to other services, including secondary care, hospital, ER and other services.
· Registration and scheduling activities.
· Ensure compliance with patient confidentiality standards as well as all other regulatory requirements.
· Adhere to employer work practices.
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
This position will need to float to either location depending on need and will work one late evening a week; off early on Fridays. exception on a Saturday.
Will spend significant time standing/walking and must have the ability to use equipment required for the delivery of services.
Competencies:
· Medical terminology required.
· Recognition of physical exam process and ability to record exam details.
· Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications.
· Ability to accurately record information in EHR.
· Organizational skills with focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow.
· Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families.
· Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
· Effectively cope with typical job stress.
· Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
· Willingness to learn to Scribe.
Required Education/Certification:
For the Medical Assistant - High school diploma or equivalent. Must have a Diploma from a Medical Assisting program, required.
Certification of a CMA with the (AAMA) American Association of Medical Assistants through an accredited medical assisting program; preferred.
