Medical Assistant/Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Position Summary: The Medical Assistant/Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) assists in the school health program as determined by the school registered nurse (RN). The scope of responsibilities will vary according to school health program needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Assists in Health Care activities;
- Monitors certain assigned students with health care needs during their lunch/recess hours;
- Assists with triaging students;
- Reports all illnesses and injuries to the School Nurse for professional review, care and/or follow-up;
- Contacts parent of ill or injured children when asked;
- Distributes information, forms, etc. to teachers and administrative staff;
- Inputs data into SNAP per the RN’s request;
- Provides some first aid care to children with minor injuries;
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervision:
The Certified Medical Assistant/CNA receives supervision from the School Nurse, Director of Health Services and the building Principal.
Minimum Qualifications:
Certified Medical Assistant certification.
- Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Be CPR and First Aid certified.
- Respect and protect the confidentiality of students, staff, families, etc.
- Be willing to accept nursing supervision.
- Demonstrate clerical and computer proficiency.
Bilingual (Spanish) language skills, preferred.
Salary: $25 per hour/ 182 work days days
