Certified Clinical Medical Assistants support medical providers with patient care in a practice setting. They assist the practice in clinical and administrative functions necessary to provide quality patient care. Some of the duties include but are not limited to: assisting providers with procedures, conducting follow up with patients on lab and test results, rooming patients, preloading and confirming office appointments. They may work in primary care, urgent care, walk in care and specialty care practices or clinics.
Program Details:
This position will be paid for 40 hours per week. The Medical Assistant Sponsorship position consists of 16 hours of class/clinical experience with the remaining 24 hours spent working as a Patient Service Representative in one of our many medical practices.
This is a full time benefit eligible position.
The program is 19 weeks in length. Training is Monday - Friday during the day at our Eastern Maine Medial Center location.
All applicants must meet the following criteria:
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Participate in a pre-admission interview
- Pass pre-employment background check and pre-employment screening with a drug screen
- Pass the CASAS Assessment for the program (CASA Testing on 11/7/22. Please register by email to gngadulted@sad15.org)
- Willing to work 24 hours while in training as a Patient Service Representative in a practice
- High school transcript and 1 letter of recommendation (Please upload to profile when applying.)
- Complete a work commitment with Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center after finishing the program- Work as a full time Medical Assistant position for 18 months
