Job description

Growing primary care physicians' office currently has an opening for a full-time billing specialist. Candidates should have at least 2 years’ experience working in a medical office as a biller or collections specialist.

Only applicants with prior experience with Medical Billing will be considered for this position.

We are looking for someone that can work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working within an EMR
  • Entering/updating patient demographics when necessary for filing claims
  • Processing unpaid accounts by contacting patients and third-party collectors
  • Identifying and assisting with resolving patient billing inquiries
  • Keying charges, insurance payments and private payments
  • Identifying and working on aging accounts
  • Sending appeals to insurance companies as needed on denied claims
  • Assisting physicians and staff with coding questions
  • Creating and working on spreadsheets
  • Daily payment reconciliation
