Front Desk/Reception - Clinic
Supervised by: Director of Operations

Community Awareness Network for A Drug-Free Life and Environment, Inc. (CANDLE) was founded as a non-profit organization in 1982. Its mission is to prevent substance abuse and violence among youth. CANDLE’s goal is to improve the health and climate of our schools and our communities by minimizing risk factors and improving protective factors that make youth vulnerable to substance use.
Duties/Responsibilities include but not limited to:
1. Act as first point of contact for all clients entering the clinic suite.
2. Notify clinicians when clients have arrived.
3. Handle all incoming calls to the clinic and direct to the appropriate person as determined by the nature of the call.
4. Oversee the waiting room and provide access to secured areas as appropriate.
5. Process payments and provide receipts.
6. Collect insurance copays and other fees, enter in EHR system and submit to Operations office for deposit.
7. Collect and maintain client insurance information.
8. Assist with daily mailings and process and distribute mail.
9. Monitor office supplies and restocking as needed.
10. Complete daily environment assessment of waiting room and clinic space (turn off sound machines, air purifiers, lights, make sure windows are closed, spaces are kept clear, etc.)
11. Monitor children coming in and out of the playroom & restroom.
12. Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Ability to contribute to a positive and friendly environment for clients.
· Experience with front desk work (customer service, phone)
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Basic computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, and Windows)
Required Skills
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills: ability to communicate and work collaboratively with staff, youth, schools and agencies in the community; experience in public speaking, and networking with school personnel, parents, and community.
