Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations, including The Heart Center, a leading provider of cardiology care, and two urgent care offices. Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates, including the Thompson House for rehabilitation and skilled nursing services, and the Home Care organizations.

SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse Medical Surgical Residency Program is an entry level nursing position for new graduate nurses. The medical-surgical nurse resident will adhere to the Nuvance Health curriculum which is modeled after the ANCC Medical Surgical Residency Program. The RN-RP will be required to match with a medical-surgical unit at the end of the 3 month non-productive probationary period. Along with a preceptor, the RN-RP will utilize the nursing process to provide quality age appropriate nursing care to patients that is consistent with organizational philosophy, goals and policies and procedures.

Education: NYS RN License; BSN required or matriculation in a program within 6 months of hire.

BLS Required

Graduate from accredited school of nursing

License: Current New York State Registered Nurse License
