Job Summary and Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY: The pathology transcriptionist is certified in Medical Transcription. The Transcriptionist performs accurate word processing of all dictation of all pathology cases in a timely manner. The transcriptionist is also responsible other clerical duties of the pathology department including registration of specimens, printing and distribution of reports, and documentation of cancer cases.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED: one year experience in transcription

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

REQUIRED: None required; Medical Transcription Specialist Certification preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS &ABILITIES:

Type 65 words per minute. Familiar with medical terminology. Basic knowledge of computers. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Ability to function effectively in a team environment. Basic knowledge of transcription and office equipment.

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
