Lawrence Family Development's SISU Center is seeking a Mental/Behavioral Health Clinicianto provide traditional and non-traditional clinical services with proven-risk young adults in Lawrence and Methuen. The Clinician will provide services on-site at the SISU Center in Lawrence to young men and women, ages 14-24. The Clinician will support the outreach and case management teams with the intake and screening process and will assist with external referrals for more intensive behavioral health or substance abuse services when appropriate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide mental health assessments to each new young person.
• Provide individual and small group therapeutic services to high risk young people
• Provide crisis counseling/intervention as needed
• Facilitate groups as needed.
• Maintain a knowledge of potential referral resources
• Attend and participate in team meetings as scheduled
• Maintain a knowledge of best practices for working with high risk populations
• Join the Outreach Team for home visits and trauma response
• Work with case management team to maintain up to date lists of providers
• Work with case management team to arrange and lead case conferences as appropriate
• Assist with outside referrals as needed.
• Document and maintain clients' files in Lawrence Prospera's Apricot CRM
• Attend staff meetings, professional development and program activities
• All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's degree required, in social work, mental health counseling, or related field with a focus on forensics and/or children and families preferred. (Candidates are not required to be licensed, but must be working towards licensure in the state of Massachusetts)
• Understanding of the criminal justice and child welfare systems
• At least 2-3 years of experience working with young adults strongly preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work sensitively and effectively in a multicultural setting
• Comfort working within a team-oriented, professional environment
• Valid driver's license or has own transportation
• Bilingual/bicultural (Spanish/English) preferred
